Welcome to

JP Wildlife Photography

My name is JP. I’m 25 years old, from West Yorkshire, and I’ve been in love with nature from a young age. Growing up surrounded by moorland, woodland, and changing seasons shaped the way I see the world and sparked a lasting appreciation for wildlife. Spending time outdoors has always felt natural to me, and photography became my way of slowing down, observing closely, and preserving fleeting moments in the wild.

JP Wildlife Photography is a personal collection of encounters I’ve been fortunate enough to experience while out in nature. Every image on this site represents time spent outdoors, often alone, learning patience and awareness. Wildlife photography isn’t about chasing images or forcing moments—it’s about waiting, watching, and allowing nature to unfold on its own terms. The photographs you see here are shaped by that approach.

I’m drawn to quiet, subtle moments just as much as dramatic scenes. A bird resting in soft morning light, an animal pausing before disappearing into cover, or a brief moment of eye contact—these fleeting interactions are what inspire me most.

Wildlife photography has taught me humility. In the wild, I’m never in control; I’m simply a visitor, observing life as it happens.

My Approach to Wildlife Photography

Ethical practice is at the heart of everything I do. All images are taken in the wild, without baiting, staging, or interfering with natural behaviour. If taking a photograph means causing stress or disturbance, I choose to walk away. Respect for wildlife and its environment always comes first.

Many of the images here are the result of early mornings, long waits, and plenty of missed opportunities. Weather changes quickly, animals vanish without warning, and sometimes the best moments happen when the camera stays in the bag. But when light, landscape, and wildlife align—even briefly—the result feels honest and alive. Those moments are what keep me returning to the wild.

Stories Beyond the Frame

Each photograph carries a story beyond what you see. Some images are taken close to home in West Yorkshire, returning to the same locations across different seasons, while others come from journeys further afield. Revisiting familiar places has helped me understand how light shifts, how landscapes change, and how wildlife behaves over time. That familiarity often leads to stronger, more meaningful images.

JP Wildlife Photography isn’t about collecting images as trophies. It’s about documenting moments of connection and sharing the beauty of wildlife as individuals, not just subjects. I believe photography can help people see nature with greater appreciation and respect.

Thank you for taking the time to look closely.

I hope these photographs encourage you to slow down, notice more, and value the wild world around us.
